HUNDREDS of children below the age of 10 are being investigated under the Government's counterterrorism programme, new data shows.

A total of 8,517 people were flagged to the Home Office's Prevent scheme in the year to March, figures yesterday revealed.

That was up 27% on the previous year and the highest on record.
