GLASGOW got their URC campaign off to a flying start with a bonus-point victory.

But they had to fight all the way before finally getting the better of the Sharks.

Franco Smith's men had two tries chalked off in a first half that ended with them just two points ahead.

And it was touch and go for long enough in the second half before the Sharks ran out of steam and ended up with 13 men after two yellow cards.

Warriors suffered a blow shortly before kickoff when Scotland back-row Jack Dempsey pulled out after seemingly being injured in the warm-up.

Euan Ferrie was promoted off the bench.

As well as Dempsey, Glasgow went into the first match of the season with some important players missing through injury.
