TINO LIVRAMENTO is confident that Newcastle's win over Manchester City can kick-start the Magpies' up-and-down Premier League campaign.

Toon are still in 14th place but Saturday night's morale-boosting victory over City lifted the gloom in Tyneside.

A double from Scotland-linked star Harvey Barnes ensured a Ruben Dias effort was a mere consolation for title-chasing City.

And Livramento said: "A lot of fans have been waiting for our season to kick-start and I feel like this could be the turning point.

"It's a great result for the team, for the city.
