Armed raid brute admits assaulting murder bid hood

A VIOLENT thug with more than 90 convictions has admitted slashing a notorious Glasgow gangster in a savage prison attack.

James Frail, 44, attacked Lyons family mobster Andrew "Dumbo" Gallacher with a knife while the pair were serving lengthy sentences at HMP Addiewell, West Lothian, in August 2021.

The violent confrontation happened as Gallacher painted a building in the jail's Lomond wing.

who was The henchman serving at least 20 years for murder bid plots on rivals including Steven "Bonzo" Daniel - was left covered in blood following the attack by Frail.

Three months later, Gallacher, 43, was found dead in his cell in an unrelated incident.

Frail pled guilty to assaulting Gallacher by repeatedly striking him on the head with a sharp implement to his severe injury when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court in May.
