SWEDE DREAM MADE OF THIS

Daily Record

June 28, 2025

Doohan and Nygren showed he already knows his history. He is the latest Swede to play in the Hoops and Nygren was quick to namedrop the greatest of them all - Henrik Larsson.

He said: “I feel amazing. It is so nice to be here.

“I have been looking forward to this so much and can't wait to celebrate a lot of victories.

“I know of course Henrik Larsson, the King of Kings, a big legend here. I play with his son Jordan now. I also know Carl Starfelt and Gustaf Lagerbielke. Freddie Ljungberg was here for a while and Mikael Lustig.”

Nygren arrives from Danish side Nordsjaelland in a cut-price £1.7million deal and told fans what to expect from him.

He said: “I am a player that wants to create a lot of chances and go towards goal. I am a link between the defence and offence and I can run a lot. I have a high work rate both offensively and defensively. That is what I am best at.

“I can score goals, create chances from a bit behind. I come as a second wave and I am a player who wants to go towards goal.

“If we are leading 1-0, I want us to be 2, 3 and 4-0 and so on.
