Michael Duck KC, prosecuting, said Wandelt demanded the test when Kate arrived home. He said:

“Kate told them they were causing distress and should leave the property.

“She then opened her front door and as she attempted to enter her house, Wandelt tried to stop her closing the door.”

Both defendants, who deny stalking the McCanns for nearly three years, were there when Kate's husband Gerry arrived. In a recording of the confrontation played in court, Gerry says: "Julia needs help, you are not Madeleine.
