Silenced internet crushes indy bots' fake news claims

A STRING of social media accounts claiming to be Scottish independence supporters have fallen silent after internet access was shut down in Iran.

Several profiles on X - previously known as Twitter - have suddenly stopped sharing fake news stories about Scotland and its place in the UK.

One account known as Jake - described as a Scots lad - has not posted in five days despite previously sharing a daily series of bizarre falsehoods.
