Jambos do a number on Sons

- DARREN JOHNSTONE

HEARTS kept up their Premier Sports Cup goal frenzy as they wrapped up Group E with a lopsided victory over Dumbarton.

Derek McInnes watched his team score four goals for the fourth successive game in an evening stroll at Tynecastle.

Lawrence Shankland set them on their way in the 17th minute before Michael Steinwender doubled the home team's lead in first-half stoppage time.

Summer recruits Alexandros Kyziridis and Claudio Braga both got in on the act after the break as the Jambos threatened to run up an even bigger winning margin.

McInnes even had the luxury of handing a debut to winger Sabah Kerjota as the Albanian works on building up his fitness.

The manager made nine changes for the visit of the Sons with Shankland and Cammy Devlin the only survivors from the team that thumped Stirling Albion last weekend.

There was a first competitive start of the season for Sander Kartum as the Norwegian was handed a chance to prove his worth to McInnes.
