Scots model and student travels to India to meet women targeted in horror attacks
A SCOTS beauty queen has travelled to India to support women survivors of acid attacks.
Ava Morgan, who was last year's Miss Great Britain, was on the trip organised by the UK-based women's not-for-profit organization, profit A-Sisterhood.
The 20-year-old, from Ayr, engaged directly with survivors at Sheroes Hangout cafes safe spaces run as part of Chhanv Foundation's Stop Acid Attacks campaign.
It helps to provide employment, confidence and community reintegration for women affected by the horrific violence.
Ava visited the charity's hubs in Delhi, Agra and Lucknow, where she met survivors, listened to their stories and participated in workshops designed to build self-esteem and skills.
One of the highlights of the trip was taking part in a dawn photoshoot with the "Sheroes" at one of the Seven Wonders of The World, the Taj Mahal.
