Pop legends hail the genius behind The Dock of the Bay

TRIBUTES were last night paid to the man who helped create hits including (Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay and Knock on Wood.

Guitarist Steve Cropper, who has died, aged 84, inspired the likes of Otis Redding's Dock of the Bay, Wilson Pickett's In the Midnight Hour and Eddie Floyd's Knock on Wood.
