PETER LEVEN has told his Aberdeen players to pick themselves up and make a successful defence of their Scottish Cup.

- BY SCOTT BURNS

The Dons are licking their wounds after back-to-back beatings by Rangers at Ibrox and Pittodrie.

Interim manager Leven wants his men focused on the weekend clash when Raith Rovers visit the north east.

After the 2-0 Gers loss, he said: “The second half was really disappointing.

“I thought the first half was kind of even, we had a wee bit more of the ball but again without really hurting them.

“A couple of long shots and a lot of attacking set-plays that we never took advantage of.

“I thought our subs never really made the impact that I wanted so overall I'm disappointed. I know how much it means to the fans, this game.

“But, yeah, we've got a long week, training and we need to defend the Scottish Cup.”
