UK law set to crack down on unsafe road users

DRIVERS over 70 face a ban if they fail a mandatory eye test as part of sweeping road safety proposals.

The UK Government will announce a package of reforms today aimed at cutting the number of deaths caused by driving.

Those who fail eye tests would lose their right to drive. It is understood that tests for other conditions, such as dementia, are also being considered.
