NANCY NEEDS A NET GAIN

Wilfried Nancy is having to plough on but the manager is well aware his squad could do with a few pairs of shooting boots under the Christmas tree tomorrow morning.

Most managers would be thrilled with finding the net three times and 31 shots on goal in a game, with the Frenchman fairly pleased with Sunday's victory against Aberdeen.

But Celtic's blunt frontline made it a far more stressful afternoon than it needed to be.

Just like at Dundee United four days earlier, the Hoops could have been out of sight by halftime.

It's bleedingly obvious Nancy is crying out for a top-class poacher and Celtic are suffering for seeing a whack of goals head out the building after Kyogo Furuhashi, Adam Idah and Nicolas Kuhn all left in the last 12 months.

But the Parkhead boss will have to be patient while he waits for reinforcements... and hope his attackers sharpen up.

Asked whether the problem was confidence or personnel, Nancy said: "It could be both. I know it is not easy to score goals.

"That's why I am happy with the chances we created but we have to score more goals.

"After that, it could be confidence, could be tactics, technique, emotion.

"It's all these kind of things we have to analyse to help the players to score goals. This is not easy.

"But there is emotion. Emotion is one of the most difficult things to control.
