ABERDEEN have appointed Lutz Pfannenstiel as their first sporting director.
And the bold move is designed to back Jimmy
Thelin, not to sack him. The Dons confirmed the colourful German guru, left, will start in his new role on November 10. The club hope his appointment will give more support to Scottish Cup-winning manager Thelin in an attempt to reverse the club's fortunes on the park.
