KEVIN MUSCAT’S trusted Shanghai Port assistants have given glowing assessments of the incoming Rangers boss.

And both Ross Aloisi and Vincenzo Ierardo could join him in Glasgow. The ex-Rangers and Millwall defender assembled a team of fellow Aussies at the Chinese champions, including assistants Aloisi and Ierardo and head of performance Greg King, who has said he regards Muscat as a manager who could be managing in the EPL.

Muscat headhunted Aloisi from Brisbane Roar, having worked with him in Japan and Ierado from Western United last year. Aloisi said: “For me he is up there with the best because he has the stats to prove it as far as wins go.
