Beni: We'll hit back with derby win after painful Paisley loss

BENI BANINGIME says Hearts will use their Paisley pain to fuel a derby victory against Hibs.

The Jambos midfielder is still reeling from their 1-0 defeat to St Mirren on Tuesday night which put a dent in their Premiership title tilt.

Derek McInnes’ side were reduced to 10 men after Craig Halkett’s first-half red card - before Miguel Freckleton scored an 88th-minute winner for the Buddies.

Baningime knows cynics will view the loss at the SMiSA Stadium as proof that they can't go the distance.

But he has vowed to ignore outside noise and focus on getting back on track-starting with a mouthwatering clash with the Hibees on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old said: "Yeah, questions will be asked of us now but those questions have been going on for what? Since September?

“The gaffer and the staff tell us that ultimately it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. It's about what we're doing. These are the things that can happen.

“I watch the Premier League and Arsenal drop points. That's football, you're going to drop points. But ultimately it’s about how you respond.

“It's not about what anyone out there says.
