is Accountability lacking at Gers on the pitch and off it

THERE are plenty of things lacking at Rangers right now.

- BY SCOTT McDERMOTT

The list is as long as Copland Road. But right at the top, above everything else in this s***show? Accountability.

And as a club, it’s been devoid of it for a while now.

There are so few people willing to put their head above the parapet and take responsibility for their actions. Too few brave enough to admit when they've got it wrong.

And until that changes, Rangers will continue to serve up to paying customers the dross on show now.

This isn't just on Russell Martin. He has to take a large share of the blame after a catastrophic start. And ultimately, it will be his head on the chopping block. But it runs deeper than that.

CEO Patrick Stewart is the guy running the club on a day-to-day basis, yet he wasnt even at Ibrox for Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Hearts.

When the boss he appointed was subject to the most poisonous abuse ever aimed at a Rangers gaffer. So why isn’t Stewart answering to supporters?

He’s the person asking them to forget what they're watching right now and cough up £185 for a Europa League ticket package.
