Hibs have smashed window but it's a pain to miss out on power of Lyndon

LYNDON DYKES would have been the icing on the Hibs transfer window cake.

But, to be honest, I’m still thrilled at the work done at Easter Road over the summer.

It’s amazing because it is the first window in eight or nine when I ’ve been quite comfortable during the final days thinking, ‘We don’t really need anybody’.

In the past few, it has been absolute panic stations trying to get players in and out because Hibs have been poor and desperately needed to get quality in.

Now I look all over the park, all over the squad, and see competition for places.

Dykes would have been a nice little extra as a physical striker to back-up Kieron Bowie.

Hibs have three others to play up top – Martin Boyle, Thibault Klidjeand Elie Youan, who are all quick and nippy but are different to Bowie.

I don’t think Dykes would have played in front of Bowie at the minute and maybe that was one of the stumbling blocks to getting him.
