Heartbreak as Hamza out of finals

FORMER Rangers striker Hamza Igamane has suffered injury agony that rules him out of Scotland's World Cup group.

The hammer blow came amid the chaos of his Morocco side's Africa Cup of Nations Final defeat to Senegal in Rabat. Steve Clarke's Scots face the Atlas Lions in Boston in their second World Cup Group C game on June 16.

But Igamane, who joined Lille in a £10million move from Ibrox in August, won't feature in the tournament.

Igamane has hit the ground running at Ligue 1 side with nine goals so far but looked sure to miss AFCON on home soil with an injury picked up against Marseille last month.

Boss Walid Regragui was eager to have him in his ranks and gambled by taking the 23-year-old to the tournament.

And the national team medical staff got him fit for the tournament's final stages, although he missed a spot kick in the semi-final shoot-out win over Nigeria.
