Did Bafta fail to pass on editing order or did BBC ignore it?

THE Bafta racism row exploded last night amid claims executives failed to act on a request to cut the N-word from live coverage of the awards ceremony.

Warner Bros staff told Bafta the remark by Tourette's campaigner John Davidson needed to be cut from the broadcast and it pledged to pass the request to the BBC.

The film studio looks after Sinners stars Michael B Jordan, 39, and Delroy Lindo, 73, who were on stage to present an award when the guest shouted the offending word.

Bosses spoke to Bafta during the ceremony and at the dinner but it is not known if the request was passed on or ignored by the BBC.
