Actor teases dramatic storyline around Jamie's daughter Faith

OUTLANDER star Sam Heughan has told how he broke down in tears as he filmed his final scene.

Leading man Sam has spent more than a decade playing Highland warrior Jamie Fraser in the hit show.

But the saga, based on the novels by Diana Gabaldon, is set to be brought to an epic conclusion with season eight starting this week.

And 45-year-old Sam, who was born in Balmaclellan, Kirkcudbright-shire, has opened up on how his emotions got the better of him.

Describing saying goodbye to 18th-century Highlander Jamie, he said: "It was emotional for everyone. There were tears.
