Government to settle neighbours' hedge dispute

A 30-YEAR row between two neighbours over 40ft trees is to be settled by the government.

James and Fiona Campbell insist their lives are being made a misery by a hedge owned by Eamonn O'Connell and Brenda Holohan.

The trees separate their rural properties near the village of Kemnay, Aberdeenshire.

The Campbells claim the trees cause a “substantial barrier” to light at their home and garden.

They had turned to Aberdeenshire Council under high hedge laws in a bid to have them lopped

But they were left frustrated when officials declined to issue a high hedge notice and said the trees could stay.
