SWIMMERS CAUGHT IN RIP CURRENT CLING TO BUOY

TWO swimmers were left clinging onto a buoy off the coast of Anglesey after getting caught in a rip current.

RNLI volunteers were alerted when the swimmers were seen in the water waving and calling for help at about 7.15am on Friday in the mouth of Trearddur Bay.

When the lifeboat crew arrived on the scene, they found the pair were being supported by other local experienced swimmers, who had gone into the water to help.

The pair were brought onboard the Trearddur Bay RNLI lifeboat before being passed into the care of paramedics.
