Slot has no plans to allow Gomez to leave Anfield

LIVERPOOL have no plans to loan Joe Gomez before the close of the summer transfer window this evening.

The stance comes as talks remain ongoing with Crystal Palace for Marc Guehi.

AC Milan have been credited with an interest in Gomez while the versatile defender’s name has also been floated in discussions over Palace captain Guehi, who is inside the final year of his contract at Selhurst Park.

However, the Premier League champions are opposed to sending the long-serving Gomez out on loan before tonight's 7pm deadline.

Arne Slot sees the 28-year-old's adaptability as a major plus point for the campaign ahead.
