A VITAL road in Wrexham is to finally reopen almost five years after it was wrecked by a storm.

The B5605 - a relief road for the A483 - will reopen today ... by unfortunate coincidence just as another named storm, Amy, strikes the region.

The road near Newbridge was partly destroyed by a landslip in January 2021 when Storm Christoph tore across North Wales.

Heavy downpours caused part of the road to collapse down the Gelli Wood embankment into the River Dee.
