River work ‘will reduce erosion and ease the risk of flooding’

A PROJECT aimed at “restoring” an Eryri river and its tributaries will soon get underway.
Natural Resources Wales (NRW) said Afon Ogwen restoration work is set to begin in Nant Ffrancon later this month.
It forms part of a joint environmental project with National Trust Cymru aimed at improving river health, creating new wildlife habitats and reducing flood risk by allowing the river to function more naturally.
