Rio left surprised Wrexham have not netted Vardy

RIO FERDINAND has voiced his astonishment that Jamie Vardy hasn't signed for Wrexham after dismissing the idea of him moving to Manchester United.

The ex-England striker has been without a club since departing Leicester City at the close of last season.

Vardy has been linked with numerous clubs throughout the summer.

There has been speculation about him potentially heading to the MLS with Inter Miami or Serie A with Napoli, but the 38-year-old remains unattached.

Wrexham have also been linked with a move for the seasoned free agent following their promotion to the Championship in April.

And United legend Ferdinand is taken aback that Vardy, who netted 200 goals in 500 matches for the Foxes, hasn’t turned up in North Wales after a period of hefty investment by the club.

There have also been whispers during the transfer window that he could end up at Old Trafford as a reserve striker.
