'Depraved' man locked up for 10 years after brutal attacks

A "DEPRAVED" man has been jailed for 10 years after raping a woman twice.

Daniel Lander was found guilty of two counts of rape and causing grievous bodily harm to her after a trial in October.

The attacks happened at the Ty Mawr Caravan Park in Abergele.

Yesterday, a jury at Mold Crown Court jailed him for 10 years for rape with two more years on extended licence.

He must serve at least two thirds of the custodial term before he can apply for parole.

The court heard Lander, 27, committed the first rape while he had her arm around her neck.

The woman, who cannot be identified, lost consciousness. Lander filmed the incident on his phone. Later he raped her again.

Lander also lost his temper, threw the woman to the floor and struck her. He caused facial injuries.

In a statement the victim said her ordeal led to her world "crashing down".

Her mental health suffered and she developed depression but she hopes to put the incidents behind her.
