RAF Valley issues night flying alert ... and some people are not happy

RAF Valley has issued an alert about nighttime aircraft activity over the coming two weeks.

The Anglesey base, known for its routine daytime flights of Hawk T2 and Texan planes, is to launch evening flights and a few later at night.

While some people have voiced concern about disrupted sleep, most have welcomed the chance to hear planes flying overhead in the darkness. Officials have shared information with residents about the timings, explaining why they are needed.

In an online post, they said: "RAF Valley first made its name as a night fighter base, as part of Fighter Command's 9 Group protecting Wales, the North West and Northern Ireland from Nazi bombers.
