New law to protect livestock from dogs

A NEW law is coming onto force in Wales and England that dog owners need to be aware of.

North Wales Police have been leading the way on tougher legislation to protect livestock from dog attacks.On Friday the Dogs (Protection of Livestock) (Amendment) Bill passed its final hurdle at Parliament and is awaiting Royal Assent, when it will officially become law.

This will bring sweeping changes. These include unlimited fines - lifting the previous £1,000 cap for owners whose dogs attack livestock.
