Life raft triggered rescue operation but teams found another item of concern

A RAFT spotted next to a North Wales bridge triggered a rescue operation but it was another find that caused concern.

The alert was raised on Friday morning after the object was seen near the Flintshire Bridge over the River Dee.

Flint RNLI were called in and went to the scene. But the raft was submerged by the tide before they reached it.

Coastguard teams from Flint and the Wirral were then sent to the scene at low water on Friday afternoon.
