CHILLY OUTLOOK, WITH MORE SNOW FORECAST

NORTH Wales woke up to a winter wonderland yesterday as Arctic air plunged south across the UK, pulling temperatures well below freezing and setting the stage for wintry weather.

Snow on Yr Wyddfa yesterday

Strong northerly winds made it feel even colder, with subzero conditions through the day.

A Met Office yellow warning for ice covered much of Wales, while snow and sleet sweep in from the Irish Sea, turning higher ground white and dusting lower levels in places. Snow was settling on Yr Wyddfa, and communities around Blaenau Ffestiniog, south Conwy and south Denbighshire.
