Banned driver hit unmarked police car after chase

A BANNED motorist being chased by officers drove into an unmarked police car.

The driver's door was opened before it hit and injured one officer as the defendant drove away.

Callum Adamson, 20, of Pont Wen, Caia Park, Wrexham, fled but was later recognised and caught.

He pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and other motoring offences.

A judge at Mold Crown Court yesterday sent him to a young offenders’ institute (YOI) for a total of 20 months.

The court heard Adamson had been given a 26-week jail term, suspended for two years, in July 2024 for driving while disqualified.

But police in an unmarked vehicle spotted Adamson driving his Volkswagen Golf car on February 2 at 4.15am.

They followed him to the Pont Wen area.
