Public healthcare system needs to be fixed urgently

EVERY day, thousands of South Africans line up outside public clinics and hospitals long before sunrise.

Some have been there since 2am, clutching their files and hoping that today they might be seen. By the time doors open between 7am and 8am, the queue stretches around the block. Though this may not be an isolated incident it is the lived reality of a country where access to basic healthcare has become a struggle for survival.
