Liz Hurley may not leave much of an inheritance to her beloved son Damian
Liz Hurley plays a wealthy benefactor in a new reality game show, setting challenges from beyond the grave to decide which of the contestants will inherit her fortune.
But in real life, the 60-year-old actress hopes her loved ones blow their money on themselves before they die and leave her nothing. Which, sadly for her son Damian, is what she might do herself.
Liz, who stars in Channel 4 series The Inheritance with Rob Rinder, talks of her feelings about bequests, saying: "I have a set of tiny porcelain coffee cups which belonged to my favourite great-aunt - I think of her with every espresso.
"But I want everyone I love to check out on empty, having spent every penny on enjoying themselves. I'm not desperate to inherit anything."
On the subject of her 23-year-old son's inheritance, she says: "I mean what makes you think I believe in passing anything on? I might go out on empty, you never know."
In The Inheritance, Liz plays a glamorous benefactor known only as The Deceased, who has left video messages for the players from beyond the grave.
Thirteen strangers are sent to a stately home to compete for a share of her fortune. To release money from The Inheritance, players must work as a team to complete a series of challenges. The better they perform, the more money is released.
Liz says: "I've died on screen quite a few times, but I don't recall lying in a coffin before. I quite enjoyed it actually, it was very restful.
