Trump's autism scare so stupid

Daily Mirror UK

Donald Trump has claimed autism cases in the US have risen rapidly suggesting Tylenol - paracetamol - is a potential cause if taken by pregnant mums. Despite there being no evidence, he said it should not be taken “during the entire pregnancy”. UK experts say his claims risk “stigmatising" families with autistic children. You say...

■DONALD Trump says paracetamol causes autism, that climate change is a hoax, that Israel's genocide is justified, that Sadiq Khan is introducing Sharia Law to London and that the UN and immigration are responsible for America’s and the world’s problems.

He is wrong on all of these things. It is an embarrassment that the USA is under the thrall of this xenophobic, narcissistic, ignorant sociopath and that we think we have no choice but to suck up to him. That people in Britain are willing to vote for his nasty little mini-me, Farage, is dreadful.

Brett Grainger, Rugeley, Staffs

■We have had to put up with a lot of ranting and bluster from Donald Trump lately. Much of what he says can be shrugged off but when it comes to medical matters, he should be stopped by the people around him. Wes Streeting is correct when he advises pregnant women to ignore Trump's claims that taking paracetamol could lead to their child having autism.
