Vaughan: I'm keen to see us evolve

- BY JOSHUA PECK

MICHAEL VAUGHAN has urged England to change their system if they want to succeed under Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum.

The duo, along with managing director Rob Key, initially turned around England's fortunes when they took over as captain and head coach respectively in 2022.

The entertaining style, dubbed Bazball, saw England win 10 of their first 11 Tests under the new regime. But, since then, England have had more losses than wins and were beaten 4-1 in the Ashes this winter.

Stokes is staying as captain with McCullum remaining as coach, but former England skipper Vaughan insists things need to change if winning is to become a habit again.

"They are lucky because you look at this over the last 20-odd years, the cycle of two Ashes series home and away, generally we've always lost a captain or a coach," Vaughan (inset) said.
