Anton catches out Martinez with piece of pure brilliance

ANTON STACH admitted he ignored his Leeds teammates to roll the dice against Aston Villa before bending home a sensational 40-yard free-kick.

The Germany midfielder fired Leeds in front after 31 minutes at Villa Park when he spotted goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez creeping off his line.

Stach, who returned from a three-game injury absence to hammer home his fourth goal of the season - and third free-kick - told LUTV: “Before the free-kick they [teammates] asked, yeah, maybe go second [far] post.

“But then I saw that the goalkeeper had been lurking for the second post, and then I just thought, ‘I will just do it’.

“I just tried it, because why not and then it worked out’.

Leeds’ Jayden Bogle said: “It was fantastic. The goal, I've got no words for man, I couldn't believe it when it went in, I don't think anyone realised hed scored for about five seconds.”
