Benefit checks to soar in bid to save cash and boost workforce

ROUTINE checks on sickness benefits claimants will reportedly be reintroduced under plans to slash the welfare bill.

Ministers aim to ramp up the number of assessments and get more people into the workforce, it was reported yesterday.

Work Capability Assessments, which determine whether a person is able to work, were effectively suspended during the pandemic.
