Lamppost QR codes target kids

DRUG dealers are trying to sell cannabis to children by placing QR codes on lampposts near schools.

Parents believe the stickers, showing a shiny marijuana leaf with a scannable code below, are being used to tempt impressionable youngsters.

Dozens have been placed at children's eye level on lampposts near Parkgate Junior School in Watford.

The code links to a website, registered in Belize in Central America, advertising next-day delivery on "premium cannabis products", with discounts up to 33%.

Similar QR codes, with the words "Get your delivery", were stuck up in Droitwich, Worcs, last year.
