Corriedale a one-off, says soaps supremo

CORONATION Street and Emmerdale supremo Iain MacLeod has ruled out bringing in a more permanent crossover between the two soaps.

The ITV executive was speaking as fans await explosive new show Corriedale, a special featuring a catastrophic multi-vehicle pileup which brings the casts of each show together for the first time ever.

Iain said: "People love Corrie and people love Emmerdale and their distinct entities.

"They have their own tone of voice and their own sense of humour and their way of telling stories, and they wouldn't blend long-term at all.
