Sealing his Saddlers place well worth wait for Browne

- BY JASON MELLOR

RICO BROWNE loves it when a plan comes together - after finally becoming part of Mat Sadler's A-Team.

Ex-Birmingham City academy defender Browne has had to bide his time since joining Walsall 14 months ago. But he is making up for it by helping to boost the Saddlers’ push towards League One.

The 21-year-old made just three EFL Trophy appearances last season, but has already racked-up half-a-dozen games this time - starting the last four.

Manchester-born Browne weighed-in with his first goal in Walsall's 4-2 win at Newport to make it back-to-back victories after taking just a point from the previous three league games threatened to derail the leaders’ promotion hopes.
