GARY NEVILLE has torn into Manchester United's senior players, telling Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes they must “do more”.

- BY CONNOR O'NEILL

The eight-time United title winner pulled no punches as he called out the ‘ageing spine’ of Ruben Amorim’s team.

Maguire, Fernandes, Casemiro and Matthijs de Ligt were on the receiving end as Neville raised major concerns about the experienced United players.

Despite improved results, Neville (circle) thinks the team’s leaders are still letting them down with inconsistent performances.

“Your spine of a football team is critical,” he told the Overlap and Betfair's Stick to Cricket show. “When I first came into Man United, our spine was Peter Schmeichel, Steve Bruce, Gary Pallister, Roy Keane and Eric Cantona, and so we were all scattered around it.
