Police: Arrest will be first of many

- BY HOLLIE BONE

A MAN has been arrested in relation to racially abusive messages sent to Lioness Jess Carter during the Euros.

Defender Jess, 27, decided to step away from social media after her ordeal during last month's women's tournament in Switzerland.

The FA called in police to investigate and a 59-year-old man from Great Harwood, Lancs, has now been arrested on suspicion of malicious communications.

He was released yesterday pending further investigation as police warned more arrests will follow.
