Brit swims with great whites for film anniversary & warns species on brink

A BRITISH endurance athlete is swimming in a great white shark “hot spot” to mark the 50th anniversary of movie Jaws - and demand action to save the species.

Plymouth-based Lewis Pugh, 55, began his 60-mile, 12-day journey around Martha's Vineyard on Thursday.

The island off the east coast of the US is where the 1975 movie was filmed.

Lewis aims to educate people about the value of the predators, which are being pushed to extinction by humans.
