HELD CAPTAIN OF CRASH SHIP IS A RUSSIAN

A CARGO ship captain arrested after the North Sea tanker crash is a Russian national, it was revealed.

Police are holding the 59-year-old on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter after one of his crew on the MV Solong was missing, presumed dead.

The Portuguese vessel and the anchored MV Stena Immaculate, carrying 220,000 barrels of jet fuel for the US military, crashed 13 miles off the East Yorkshire coast on Monday sparking a massive fire.

The Marine Accident Investigation Board in Grimsby, Lincs, was questioning the Solong's crew, including Russians and Filipinos, about the collision.
