End scandal of 'corridor care'

Plea after surge in 12-hour A&E waits

THE Lib Dems will today call on the government to end “corridor care” after a spike in A&E delays.

Data has revealed there were 163,000 trolley waits of 12 hours or more this winter, up 15% from 142,590 in the same period last year.

It means one in 10 patients had to wait that long to be admitted.

The Liberal Democrats, which obtained the data collated by the House of Commons Library, want the scandal resolved by 2029.
