'DONALD'S STARS CAN REPEAT HISTORIC RYD'
Daily Mirror UK
|September 25, 2025
TONY JACKLIN reckons leading Europe to a first Ryder Cup win on American soil was “the greatest day of my life”.
And the former skipper, now 81, believes “smart cookie" Luke Donald has a great chance to emulate his historic victory on Long Island this week.
Double Major winner Jacklin is the man who changed the Ryder Cup by flying his team across the Atlantic on Concorde in 1987 to beat Jack Nicklaus’ star-studded side.
After winning back the trophy at The Belfry two years before, the historic Muirfield Village victory ended a run of 13 consecutive home wins for the USA.
