Maresca sacked after fallout with board and medical staff. Rosenior is favourite for job

LIAM ROSENIOR leads the race to take over at Stamford Bridge after Chelsea ran out of patience with Enzo Maresca.

The Blues pulled the trigger after two days of intense talks between the Italian's representatives and club officials.

Chelsea have said publicly they wanted to "make a change" to get the club's season "back on track", but the word from Maresca (left) is that he had also decided to quit after a breakdown in relations with his employers.
