Appeal for justice as killer driver walks free

THE family of a young woman killed by her boy racer boyfriend want justice after a judge said she could not jail him.

Jay Bayliss, 32, was handed an absolute discharge despite killing 20-year-old Sophie Brimble as he raced a friend.

A court heard Bayliss crashed into a lamp post in his VW Polo while driving at up to 90mph through 30mph residential streets.

Sophie, 20, who was a passenger in the car, suffered fatal injuries.
